 A one day course designed to introduce new entrants to the sector to the minimum Health & Safety knowledge essential to their career path. This course is not intending to turn beginners or new on-site staff into Fire Safety Risk Assessors, CDM experts, etc. merely to furnish them with the awareness to perform the day job safely and give comfort to their employers.

The course aims to give an overview on:

  • The Health & Safety framework – Understand the legislation that applies to you
  • Risk assessment – Know what you need to manage, staff activities and Communal areas
  • Work at Height and fragile roofs
  • Reporting of Accidents
  • Water Hygiene / Legionella
  • Gas safety
  • Lifts
  • Asbestos Management
  • Fire Safety
  • Electrical Safety – Fixed Installations and Portable Appliances
  • COSHH, Redecoration, lead paint, silicosis and dust
  • Work equipment
  • Management of contractors and the CDM Regulations
  • Welfare
  • Safety signage and notices
  • Enforcement & penalties

Who should attend:

This course is suitable for compete beginners, the relatively inexperienced, on-site staff/concierge/House Managers, assistant property managers and possibly administrative assistants also.
