Let’s start with a bit of background…
Before Block Recruit (that seems like a lifetime ago!) I was completing my A Levels in Business Management and Media Studies. I was also a competitive figure skater and competed as part of Team GB (pictured above, but good luck finding me... the secret is out, I'm not a natural blonde!) in the British and World Championships, travelling to countries such as Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and France regularly. Hard work, resilience and constantly being pushed to extreme limits is what I was used to (little did I know that would be ideal when working in recruitment!)
I joined Block Recruit in 2014 and after an intense training program, which included the history of Block Management and just about every company/person that works in it, I became our Managing Director’s right-hand women. Anyone that knows our Director Alice Cadfan-Lewis, knows she is a perfectionist and that service and adding value to our clients goes above all else. I had some big shoes to fill. It was a steep learning curve and I was pushed outside my comfort zone. I don’t think I really understood how challenging recruitment would be. You put a job advert out, CV’s come in and then you send them to your client… hmmm... not quite. Well, certainly not when you’re working for Block Recruit.
My Role at Block Recruit
I am responsible for supporting, mentoring and training our growing team at Block Recruit. I ensure all candidates and clients are delivered the exceptional service levels we pride ourselves on. Alice is very strict on this and I am right behind her. Our unique service defines us.
I solely manage all Director / Board Level vacancies nationally as well as our Executive Search positions. I work exclusively with Senior Management level candidates, assisting them in their search for new opportunities.
Working on behalf of our largest clients, I head up our Managed Recruitment Service, working exclusively on a retainer. Clients work with us to build and retain their teams which has saved them thousands in recruitment fees and improved staff retention rates. We also provide valuable recruitment metrics, advice and guidance. This is vital when it comes to high volume recruitment drives.
The Managed Recruitment Service sees Block Recruit act as a company’s internal recruitment function. We manage the entire recruiting/hiring process from job profiling through to increasing your Employer Brand. We can improve a company’s route to market, time to hire, increase the quality of the candidate pool and candidate experience, reduce costs, improve GDPR compliance and provide verifiable metrics.
Our proven methodology delivers seamless, workflow-driven talent acquisition strategies that can help you secure the right talent at lower costs. Before engagement, we will work with you to fully understand your requirements, understand the business culture and develop a customised strategy for identifying, attracting and retaining talent.
From larger to smaller companies… I also manage our Business Consultancy service, a low-cost solution when recruitment fees are just not achievable. Our consultancy service gives companies the flexibility of still doing their own recruitment but with the support of our expert team. Companies will also gain access to our job board posting service, allowing you to post across several platforms at a low cost. I can give advice on market conditions, salary benchmarking, talent attraction/ retention and employer branding.

I’m not just here to help with recruitment. I work with companies nationally helping them build on their Employer Branding and many other areas.
