Assistant Block Manager - South West London

We speak to many driven candidates who’re eager to step into Residential Block Management but lack the hands-on portfolio management experience, however this is one of those opportunities where that experience isn’t needed! A small/mid-sized property specialist in Surrey are now looking to grow their Block Management team by taking on an Assistant Property Manager who’ll train and develop to look after their own portfolio in time, a great opportunity for career progression!
 
They cover sales, lettings and block management and are a reputable brand, having been established for 80 years. Their leasehold portfolio has developed over the past couple of years and this team currently consists of a head of department and an administrator who work closely the wider companies’ senior management and accounts/support staff. As their new Assistant Block Manager, you’ll be working closely with the current manager on their portfolio of 800 units, covering new build and converted blocks as well as estates and older properties. They work with Developers, Freeholders and RMCs and strive to provide the best possible levels of service at all times.
 
Your days will be made up of a variety of duties including conducting site visits with management, communicating with leaseholders, clients and contractors, booking in day to day maintenance works, assisting with large scale major works and section 20 notices where needed, processing office-based admin at all levels, assisting with service charge budgets, helping management ensure that all buildings are H&S/fire safety compliant and attending AGMs where needed. Don’t worry if you’ve not completed these duties on a residential portfolio before, full training will be provided on an ongoing basis as well as support through IRPM qualifications. This company are keen to train a new Assistant Property Manager from a more junior level as you’ll work with their standards and processes in mind as well as a part of their friendly and supportive team!
 
Minimum Requirements
 
  • A strong background in office-based admin, ideally from the property sector
  • Excellent communication, IT and customer service skills
  • A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle

Desirable Requirements
 
  • Previous experience in the Leasehold Property Management industry
  • Eager to complete further training to become an IRPM qualified Block Manager in time
 
Salary Range & Benefits
 
This position is offering a starting salary of between £20K - £25K depending on experience plus further training and support through the IRPM qualifications for long term progression.
