Building Surveyor - Hertfordshire

We are now looking for the next member of our team… An experienced, process driven Building Surveyor.
 
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and ensure delivery of all major works projects for the property department, working in accordance with the RICS Code of Practice, current legislation and company best practice. Duties will include:
 
  • Specification writing.
  • CDM controls – Pre construction plans, monitoring etc.
  • Building defect diagnosis and reporting.
  • Licences for alteration and monitoring.
  • Party wall agreements.
  • Section 20 works - prep/supervision of S20 Notices and associated paperwork.
  • Reinstatement cost assessments.
  • Contract Admionistration - monitoring of works on site, issuing certificates and payments.
  • Capital expenditure programmes – provision monitoring and adjustment with property managers.
  • Understand and interpret leases.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Arrangement of billing for surveying services as required.
  • Identify any Health & Safety risk/issues whilst on site.
  • Client liason and reporting.
  • Leaseholder communication.
  • Understand major works requirements.
  • Administer licences of alteration etc.
 
Minimum Requirements:
 
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a relevant or similar role
  • Advanced health and safety knowledge.
  • Intermediate relevant property legislation knowledge.
  • Basic experience of financial management of buildings.
  • Excellent time management, communication and organisation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • Polite, helpful and trustworthy.
