Fire Safety Officer (Exclusive Vacancy) - Greater Manchester

One of these being a bespoke internal training academy designed specifically for us, aimed at providing our employees with the resources needed to develop and upskill.  
 
We’re looking for a Fire Safety Officer / Manager to join our team in our Warrington office. Your day to day role will include:
 
  • Proactively promote Fire Safety throughout the company.
  • Support the Head of Risk Management on all aspects of risk.  
  • Carry out and review Fire Risk Assessments on client sites and company offices.
  • Carry out training for staff regarding Fire Safety and the related subjects (e.g. Enforcement, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005 in Residential Buildings).  
  • Produce Fire Strategies for Sites that have no current paperwork.
  • Liaise with Local Fire Services (on site when necessary) and develop relationships with Primary Authority Partners Lancashire Fire and Rescue.
  • Record, Log and Process all Letters of Deficiencies. Action Plans and Enforcement Notices issued by the Fire Authority.
  • Work with Property Managers to ensure progress is ongoing to meet necessary deadlines.
  • Work along with Head of Risk Management to provide advice to internal staff on Fire Safety.
  • To be able to assist with the competences and duties (Fire Safety related issues, such as maintenance, strategies, communication etc.) set out in the Building & Fire Safety Bills that are due to be published in regard to the Building Safety Manager and Nominated Individuals roles (further duties will be added once it is clear what will need to be involved).
  • Assist in preparing for external audits.
  • Assist Head of Risk Management to follow up and ensure close out of accidents that have been investigated, assisting with completion of reports.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by Senior Management commensurate with the grade of the post.
  • To continue with personal CPD (Career Path Development) and attend relevant training courses commensurate to the role.
  •  The flexibility to work outside of normal office hours to attend sites, meetings and events. Also, to work away from home across the country as and when work commitments require.
 
Minimum Requirements
 
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar relevant qualification
  • Experience in the Residential Property Management and/or Construction Industries
 
Desirable Requirements
 
  • NeBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Asbestos, Legionella, Manual Handling, Working at Heights Awareness Training

Salary Range & Benefits
 
This position is paying a competitive salary of £45K - £50K depending on experience plus benefits.
