Part Time Service Charge Accountant - South West London

A small team of Block Management experts are currently seeking a part time Service Charge Accountant to spent 3 days a week in their South West London office. This relaxed yet professional team of 5 specialise in Leasehold Property across Londons private market and currently oversee the communal and external areas of 25 high end Estates.
 
Their ideal new family member will be personable, efficient and experienced in Service Charge Accounts, having previously worked on the Accounts for Leasehold Blocks of apartments. You’ll be confident in processing Service Charge payments, chasing arrears accounts and reconciling/reporting on a regular basis. You’ll take the lead on Service Charge Year End with the help of a proactive, supportive, Accounts Assistant.
 
Working on a part time basis, you’ll spend 3 days a week in their Battersea offices and these days would be flexible to suit you, providing a good work life balance while sitting within a friendly team of like minded professionals. You’ll enjoy the lively surroundings of South West London on your lunch breaks, just around the corner from the beautiful Battersea Park.
 
Your duties will include:
  • Preparing Budgets for Service Charges and any Major Projects
  • Prepare periodic Income and Expenditure report for each block
  • Putting newly acquired Blocks on the software system and gaining all the required information from the previous Managing Agent
  • Monitor expenses at regular intervals to manage cash flow at required levels
  • Prepare a reports comparison between Actual/Budgeted expenses and report on variances
  • Produce Extended Trial Balances for each block at the Year End
  • Liaise with Auditors for any queries on Year End accounts submitted for each block
  • Post Journals for any final adjustments to finalise Year End Accounts
  • Compliance when completing and distributing Year End Service Charge Accounts in accordance with ARMA guidelines
  • Produce Service Charge demands in a timely manner following the guidelines of the lease
  • Raise balancing charges for any deficit raised from previous year in timely manner
 
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 2 years of residential service charge accounting experience
  • Excellent IT, Excel and Communication skills
  • Qube property management software experience

Desirable Requirements
  • Industry relevant qualifications such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or IRPM
  • Previous experience mentoring and guiding assistants
 
Salary Range & Benefits
 
This position is offering a pro rata salary of £35K - £40K depending on experience which would be a take home of £21K - £24K for 3 days a week. You’ll also receive standard benefits/pension/holiday.
