Part Time Porter

Location: Kensington
Salary: £11,500 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Porter to join our client’s team in Kensington. This role is crucial to maintaining the cleanliness, security, and overall upkeep of our clients' residential buildings. Perfect opportunity for a professional individual that's looking for a part time position!

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks:

  • Clean and dust the main entrance doors, including glass panels and partitions.
  • Polish handrails, door fittings, and intercom systems in the entrance and ground floor areas.
  • Vacuum all ground floor carpets and mop marble or hard floors as needed.
  • Inspect and clean common areas, addressing any litter or mess.
  • Sweep and pick up litter in external areas.
  • Report any damages or issues to the property management team.
  • Check communal lighting, replace bulbs using a step ladder where accessible, and report any faults.
  • Manage and organize deliveries on site.
  • Supervise and monitor contractors and maintenance personnel, ensuring their work is completed efficiently.
  • Ensure the building’s security by keeping communal entrance doors closed at all times.

Weekly Tasks:

  • Clean and vacuum lift floors, tracks, mirrors, control panels, and door frames.
  • Thoroughly clean main lobby doors and surrounding areas inside and out.
  • Vacuum all floors and staircases from top to bottom.
  • Dust and wipe down sills, ledges, skirting boards, banisters, and balustrades.
  • Dust ceilings, cornices, and internal lighting fixtures.
  • Remove scuff marks from walls where possible.
  • Conduct weekly tests of fire alarm panels and emergency lighting systems.
  • Collect household waste and recycling on collection days and prepare them for pickup.
  • Clean and disinfect bin areas as needed.

Occasional Duties:

  • Maintain a clean and organised cleaners’ cupboard and storage areas.
  • Promptly report any damage, defects, or hazards.
  • Handle minor repairs, painting, and handyman tasks as needed.
  • Perform carpet cleaning as instructed by the property management team.
  • Provide access to restricted areas, such as roof spaces or plant rooms, for contractors and surveyors, and supervise their visits.
  • Deliver notices to residents as requested.
