Property Manager - East Sussex

+ Car Allowance - Block Management
Ref: 346 Date Posted: Friday 19 Jan 2018
We are an independent firm founded over 25 years ago, and we have grown into a successful, established brand. We manage a large portfolio which includes retirement housing schemes and mixed use developments and we also have longstanding links to National and Regional Developers and Commercial Freeholders.

We value our staff, they’re undoubtedly our biggest asset, and we know that, without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Our staff are trained in all aspects of Property Management, both in current legislation and good practice.

In this industry, we believe if you get too big the service level gets lost. If you are too small, you will not be able to invest in the systems required to be successful and support your staff. With this in mind, we like to think of ourselves as a firm like Goldilocks – not too big and not too small. We ensure the number of properties we manage is in proportion with staff numbers so that our high standard of service and professionalism never gets lost and our Property Managers are not overworked.

We are now looking for a new member of our team, a Property Manager to be based in our East Sussex office. Here, we are 8 passionate people that are very team-orientated with a good sense of humour! We break up the working day by listening to the radio in the office and there’s always someone cracking a joke. We work hard, provide a quality service and support each other in stressful situations (let’s not forget we work in Property Management!).

You will join us as our new Property Manager, managing an established portfolio of around 500 units covering West Sussex, East Sussex and Tunbridge Wells. Your role will therefore include preparing and managing budgets, overseeing major works projects, issuing Section 20 notices, chairing AGMs and carrying out site inspections.

The ideal person would be someone that is a team player, someone that doesn’t mind lending a helping hand to a colleague. You must be someone with excellent communication and customer service skills along with the ability to have a laugh in the office!

Minimum Requirements:
  • Around 2 years’ Block Management experience, either managing your own portfolio or assisting with the management of one alongside a Property Manager.
  • Knowledge of Section 20 notices, service charge budgets, major works and leases.

If you don’t meet the requirements for this role, call the Block Recruit team to see what other roles we may have which could fit your current level of experience.

Desirable Requirements:
  • Property related degree/industry recognised qualifications such as IRPM/RICS

This position is paying up to £26,000 per annum for the right person along with a £2,000 car allowance.
