Property Paralegal / Legal Executive - Surrey

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Paralegal / Solicitor / Legal Executive at a small residential block and estate property management company based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This reputable firm are looking for a Property Paralegal / Legal Executive / Solicitor to join their tight knit team of leasehold professionals. Their director is looking for the right person for the job, someone who can work with his brands culture and become an integral part of the business for the long term.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Managing client files, running own transactional files on Landlord and Tenant related matters in particular dealing with solicitor’s pre-sale queries in connection with sales of flats in managed buildings.
  • Leading a small team of 2
  • Dealing with post completion work in respect of flat sales.
  • Interpretation of terms of leases and applicable laws / regulations.
  • Managing a high volume of matters sometimes with short deadlines
  • Communicating professionally, effectively and confidently with clients, leaseholder and external solicitors (both in writing and by telephone).
  • Assisting with various other legal tasks as required
 
Minimum Requirements
 
  • Previous property law experience (minimum 3 years) within a legal environment in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 (as Amended) and Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act.
  • Excellent client care skills
  • Self-confidence and ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic with a positive, can do attitude
  • Good working knowledge of various office applications – word, excel
  • Taking care and attention into all correspondence and documentation
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to change, new practices and remain calm under pressure and find solutions
  • Excellent presentation skills reflected in their work
  • A methodical and organised approach with keen attention paid to every detail
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.
  • Friendly and helpful approach to dealing with queries
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to integrate within a team as well as working on one’s own initiative.
  • Ability to deliver a quality service to both internal and external clients.
 
Desirable Requirements
 
  • Law Degree, LPC or completed/working towards ILEX qualification preferred.
  • Industry related qualifications such as IRPM / RICS / IOSH

Salary Range & Benefits
 
This position is paying a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
