Trainee Broker - Isle of Wight

£17,000 - £20,000 (depending on experience) - Commercial Management

We’re currently hiring on behalf of a company who are a small team with a stable client base, however they are about to embark on growing the business by welcoming a new Trainee Broker to their office. Put aside what you might already know about the role of a Broker, this firm aren’t cut-throat sales people who cold call all day long. Instead, they build long term, trusting relationships with commercial clients and represent them on an ongoing basis.
 
As their new Trainee Broker, you will initially join the team and support the Directors in their day to day duties as well as completing general office administration. Through these more junior duties as well as ongoing training from senior management, you’ll gradually progress to working on client accounts. This is an exciting time to join this firm as you could become an instrumental team member as they continue to grow, they hope that their new Trainee will grow into more senior roles and help them grow a team in turn.
 
This company are open minded in terms of your background and will consider candidates from office based/admin backgrounds, those looking for a new sector to work in or Graduates/6th Form/College leavers. They’re also keen to find someone with good Numeracy Skills as you’ll be working with figures as you progress and attention to detail will also be key.
 
The role will be mostly office based but you might need to complete the odd client meeting on the mainland once your responsibilities have increased, the Directors are also commercial property landlords so take a flexible approach to this role, you might also end up helping out with the odd bit of office management. Their office is a calm and productive space, but a positive environment is also enjoyed.
 
Minimum Requirements
 
  • Good IT, communication, numeracy and organisational skills
  • The ability to build rapport with customers
  • Honesty, integrity and in possession of a good work ethic

Desirable Requirements
  • A Level, College or University level education including Maths or Business
  • Previous experience working in a client focused role
  • Able to meet occasional mainland travel requirements
 
Salary Range & Benefits

This position is offering between £17,000 - £20,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. You’ll also receive a company mobile phone, standard holiday allowance, pension contributions and in-house training.
