Two Prisons are Approved for Resi Conversions

Developer City and Country have been granted planning to convert Dorchester prison in Dorset and Shepton Mallet prison in Somerset into residential homes.
Grade II listed Shepton Mallet prison buildings will be refurbished into 96 apartments and an additional 40 homes will be built within the boundary walls.
Dorchester prison will be converted into 185 new homes. City and Country will be the first developers in the UK to convert prisons of this size into residential use buildings.
