Gallagher Estates and Lands Improvement have submitted plans for a large scale mixed-use development, Newbridge Point, consisting of 850 new homes, commercial space, a public quayside space and a park.

The currently vacant 32-acre brownfield site is located in Hamworthy, next to Twin Sails Bridge, and was previosly the site of Poole Power Station until it was demolished in 1993.
