British Land Submits Plans for a 53-Acre London Plot

British Land has submitted plans to redevelop a 53-Acre South-East London site in Canada Water. Plans include constructing 40 new buildings comprising of offices, shops and approximately 3000 new residential homes. Plans also include a new high street (a first for London in almost a century), a town centre and 2 new parks.

 

Detailed plans for the first phase were also included in the planning application. This initial phase consists of 3 buildings, delivering 270 homes, built on Surrey Quays shopping centre’s overflow car parks between Deal Porters Way and Canada Water Dock as well as a vacant site at Roberts Close.   

 

If British Land are given the green light construction on the first phase is likely to start by Spring 2019 with a completion date expected to be in 2022. The entire master-plan could be delivered by 2033.
