Wellcome Trust May Trial a 4-Day Working Week
22 January 2019

The Wellcome Trust may trial a 4 day working week, giving their workers Fridays off to boost productivity and staff moral. The £26bn London based reseach foundation is considering moving all 800 head office staff into the scheme this autumn, without a reduction in remuneration. It is believed that the move would make the Wellcome Trust the largest organisation in the world to try the 4 day-day week.

It is important to measure people on progress made, not how many hours they sit behind their desk. In a 4 day week staff are likely to be more engaged in their work, less stressed and in some cases able to maintain a higher level of productivity.
