Job Title: Accounts Assistant (Private Rental Sector)

About Us: We are a leading property management company based in Hitchin, dedicated to providing exceptional services in the private rental sector. We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team and support our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete daily bank reconciliations of all receipts across all lettings bank accounts and cashbooks.
  • Upload rent, payments, and invoices daily.
  • Resolve landlord queries via email and telephone.
  • Investigate and proactively resolve non-payment issues by preparing weekly and monthly Debtors Reports, liaising directly with landlords and clients to ensure prompt payment.
  • Assist with completing payment requests, including refunds and deposit releases ahead of each payment run.
  • Liaise with Property Managers (PMs), issuing and re-issuing invoices as well as issuing credit notes.
  • Perform general accounts administration, including banking, filing, and retrieval of paperwork.
  • Issue service charge demands for block management.
  • Chase arrears and perform credit control tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a Management Accounts Administrator or similar role in the property sector, preferably working for a letting agent.
  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software, particularly Xero.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including the use of financial formulas and creating spreadsheets.
  • Solid data entry skills with the ability to identify numerical errors.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of Vebra Alto will be beneficial.
