Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Hitchin Area, Office Based

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum

Role Overview: As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our property management department. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial transactions. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and expenses related to property management activities.

  2. Accounts Receivable/Payable: Process and monitor payments from clients and vendors, ensuring timely invoicing and collections. Handle accounts payable tasks, including reconciliations and vendor communications.

  3. Bank Reconciliations: Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies in a timely manner.

  4. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for property management projects, providing insights and analysis as needed.

  5. Client Communication: Liaise with clients regarding financial matters, addressing inquiries and providing necessary documentation in a professional and timely manner.

  6. Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.

  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, staying updated on changes in accounting practices and regulations affecting the property management industry.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in property accounts or PRS client accounting is highly desirable.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail, capable of interpreting financial data and identifying trends or anomalies.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

  • Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office suite, particularly Excel, is essential.
