Property Inspector | Portsmouth

My client is seeking an experienced property inspector/tenant liaison officer to join their established team, overseeing roughly 500 rented freehold and leasehold residential properties in and around the Portsmouth Area.

Office hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:30, and Friday from 9:00 to 17:00.

5 days office based + site visits

As the Residential Property Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and conducting property inspections.
  • Generating detailed reports on premises conditions, highlighting maintenance issues or deficiencies requiring attention from landlords.
  • Dispatching reports to landlords and coordinating any necessary quotes and remedial work.
  • Generating works orders for contractors and maintaining records.
  • Promptly addressing maintenance communications from landlords, tenants, and contractors.
  • Managing key distribution to contractors.
  • Supervising instructed works and ensuring tenants' satisfaction with completed projects.
  • Cultivating and sustaining positive relationships with clients: tenants, landlords, and contractors.
  • Collaborating within a tight-knit team and assisting in other business areas during colleagues' absences.
  • Participating in on-call duties as an emergency point of contact outside regular hours.

Successful candidates must demonstrate flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and the following qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of industry experience as an inspector, property manager or similar role
  • Familiar with PRS
  • Full UK driving license and vehicle
  • Proficiency in IT.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities, capable of handling high-volume, time-sensitive tasks.
  • Updated knowledge of decent homes standards, HHSRS, and relevant Propertymark or ARMA certifications.
